Scuba Diving
New Zealand is a diver's paradise. The clear coastal waters make for excellent viewing of fascinating sea life, especially in the months from February to June. The late Jacques Cousteau said that the crystal-clear waters of the Poor Knights Islands Marine Reserve, are one of the world's top five diving locations. Here you will find an exquisite range of fish, including tropical species.
Other very popular areas are the sheltered Bay of Islands, Stewart Island with its incredible kelp forest and huge paua, and the dramatic Fiordland. For special diving opportunities, New Zealand provides access to two wrecks.
