The Tranz Alpine Train ..... leaves daily from Christchurch, crosses the Canterbury Plains, through the stunning Waimakariri Gorge, to Arthurs Pass in the Southern Alps, then travels through the Otira tunnel to Greymouth on the West Coast. The Tranz Alpine train excursion is well known for the spectacular scenery.

Punakaiki ..... Punakaiki is best known for its Pancake Rocks and Blowholes - both of which are spectacular and a must-see when visiting the West Coast.
