Hokitika Wild Foods Festival ..... Held each

Arthurs Pass ..... Arthurs Pass straddles the main divide of the
Southern Alps. Deemed as being a most popular
and scenic route toget from Canterbury to the
West Coast. The quaint Arthurs Pass village
remains much the same as when the tunnel was
completed in 1923.

Tranz Alpine Train ..... leaves daily from Christchurch,
crosses the Canterbury Plains, through the
stunning Waimakariri Gorge, to Arthurs Pass in the Southern
Alps, then travels
through the Otira tunnel to Greymouth on the West Coast. The
Tranz Alpine train excursion is well known for
the spectacular scenery.
Punakaiki ..... Punakaiki is best known for its Pancake Rocks and Blowholes - both of which are spectacular and a must-see when visiting the West Coast.
