Location

The geographical coordinates for New Zealand are 41 00 S, 174 00 E. Located in Oceania in the bottom of the South Pacific and southeast of Australia.

New Zealand's location means it is one of the first places in the world to see the new day. It is 12 hours ahead of Greenwich Mean Time, however, in summer it has daylight savings. This means that clocks are put forward by one hour to Greenwich Mean Time +13. Clocks are then put back to Greenwich Mean Time +12 in March of every year. This also means that New Zealand has the reverse seasons to the Northern Hemisphere.

The area of New Zealand is comparative to Colorado or Great Britain and the population is 4 million. This makes it very uncrowded, and with its temperate climate is an ideal year-round holiday destination. New Zealand has three international airports at Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch, and there are some flights from Australia in to Hamilton, Palmerston North, Queenstown and Dunedin. It is a three hour flight from Sydney Australia, twelve hours direct flight from Los Angeles and approximately 10 hours from Singapore. There are a number of airlines that fly regularly in to New Zealand from all over the globe.
